📝 The Southwest Munchkin Cattery Adoption Process
Our goal is to make the process of welcoming a healthy, well-socialized Munchkin kitten into your home transparent and stress-free. Please read our steps carefully before submitting an application.
Phase 1: Application and Reservation

| 1. Review Available Kittens | Please start by reviewing our [Available Kittens Page]. This page features current litters ready for adoption and announced future litters. |
| 2. Submit Application | Once you have decided on a kitten (or a specific litter), fill out and submit the [Adoption Application Form]. We will contact you within 24 hours of your application submission if we feel your home is a good match for one of our kittens. |
| 3. Secure Reservation | Your kitten’s spot is reserved with a $500 Deposit. This deposit is refundable if we cannot provide a kitten that matches your preferences within a reasonable timeframe (as defined in our contract). Note: Please specify your preferred kitten or traits (color, sex, coat) when you contact us. |
| 4. Waitlist Policy | If you are seeking specific traits (color, gender, etc.) and are willing to wait for an upcoming litter, placing a deposit secures your spot on our Waiting List. We will notify you and send updated files every two weeks after a new litter is born. |
Phase 2: Pricing, Updates, and Finalizing Adoption

| Kitten Cost | Our Munchkin kittens are typically priced between $800 and $1,500. This cost does not include delivery/shipping fees. |
| Payment Schedule | The initial $500 Deposit reserves your spot. The Final Payment for the remaining balance is due when the kittens are 10–12 weeks old. |
| Kitten Files | We will send you updated photos and ‘kitten files’ every two weeks, allowing you to watch your new family member grow! |
| Pickup Date | Kittens are adopted by permanent families when they are 10–13 weeks old. The precise pickup date will be announced when the litter is 8–9 weeks old. |
| Deposit Clause | We will always try to meet your needs regarding traits, but we cannot guarantee Mother Nature’s outcome. If you are dissatisfied with the kitten provided, your deposit will be transferred to the next available litter; it will not be refunded. |
| Late Pickup Fee | We require timely pickup. If you miss the scheduled pickup date without prior arrangement, you will be charged $50 per day. We cannot accept the return of kittens older than 10 weeks. |
Phase 3: Transportation and Delivery Options
The kitten’s cost does not include shipping/delivery. Adopters are responsible for these fees.
- Option 1: Door-to-Door Delivery (Neighboring States)
- Description: We personally bring your kitten directly to your door.
- Cost: Pricing varies by location, ranging from $200 to $400.
- Option 2: Air Shipping (Nationwide USA)
- Description: We work with reputable, specialized pet flight nannies or United Safe Shippers for air transport to any state. They can deliver to your nearest major airport or sometimes directly to your home.
- Cost: Varies depending on location and method, ranging from $300 to $600.
- Weather Restriction: This option is subject to safety regulations; transport may be delayed if the temperature is above 85°F or below 25°F at the airport.
🏠 Visiting Policy (For Health and Safety)
For the health and safety of our entire cattery, including young kittens and mothers, we do not allow general public visits to our home. If you have a confirmed reservation and deposit, you will meet your kitten and its parents on the agreed-upon pickup date when the kitten is nine weeks old or older.
